Covered by Glory
When we see the dedication of the house of the Lord in the Old Testament, be it the tent of meeting in the wilderness or the grand temple that King Solomon built; we see the Lord fill the temple with His glory. He sent His glory down like a cloud to acknowledge that He was pleased with the house that was built by His servants.
Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. Exodus 40 : 34
Especially when King Solomon completed the grand temple and dedicated it to the Lord, He was so pleased that the weight of the glory that descended from heaven prevented even the priests from entering the temple.
so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD 1 Kings 8:11
In the new testament, God still fills His temple with His glory. Now His temple is not restricted to a specific geographic location. Instead, it is being carried in the hearts of His people, His glorious church.
When a person is filled with the glory of God, the Holy Spirit takes over every aspect of their lives.
Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia Acts 16 : 6
So with great care, we must live our lives. We carry the wonderful glory of God and it will remain with us as long as the ark of the Lord is in the center of our lives. We cannot conform to the world and expect the Glory of God to cover us.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:20
Take note of every thought you have and every action it leads to. A Born again Christian should live in the knowledge that they are the new testament Priests and the bearers of the new Ark - Christ Jesus. We must live by the standards set by our Lord and always set Him as the center of our lives.
Let Christ be the center of your lives, and His glory will surely fill his temple immeasurably.
