When you are facing Jordan, be ensured that there is a harvest after this Jordan. God can take you to the finishing line. With your strength, you cannot cross Jordan. Joshua got up early in the morning and got the strategy from God.
Below are the strategies to cross the Jordan before us -
Strategy 1: Follow Christ
- giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Joshua 3:3
Christ is the ark of the new testament. Don’t follow your own strategy/mind. Many people would have tried crossing Jordan with their strength. But when you rely on God, He will help you cross the Jordan and reap the harvest. In Christ, we have all we need to lead a victorious Christian life.
Strategy 2: Consecrate yourself
There is a miracle waiting after your repentance. There is a miracle in your confession.
Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.” Joshua 3:5
When you repent, you are bringing back God’s presence. When we take Christ with us, we will never see closed doors. No one will raise a hand against you.
Joshua meditated on the word of God. Come closer to God when you are in trouble. Purify your heart and expect big miracles in the coming month. God is going to give you divine connection.
Strategy 3: Step into Jordan
1 Peter 4:9 - we are the royal priests.
Don’t run away from the problem. Get into Jordan, God is with you to help you out. When the priests stepped in, the Jordan got separated. God will do the same for us when we step out in faith.
Strategy 4: Prepare to stand as a testimony
A big problem will lead you to a big testimony if you get the strategy from God.
Joshua set up 12 memorial stones to show all the tribes shall bear testimony of what the Lord has done. Even so in our life, the Jordan before us will eventually become a place of testimony.
Strategy 5: Become an intercessor.
The priests stood still till all the people crossed. So you should stand in the gap for others. Stand with others in their problems so that they can also cross Jordan. We are on a journey to Canaan; we should care for others. As we carry each other's burden in prayer, the Lord will carry us into the promised land.
