As the situation around us seems to be escalating, specifically the current second wave of the covid pandemic that is spreading like fire here in India, there is an even greater pandemic, more contagious in the hearts of the people- Fear.
There is no denying the devastation that is being caused all around us, The pain and sufferings that people are going through are real. But it is in these moments we need to remind ourselves that the God we serve is still greater than anything the world can throw at us.
Understandably, the world around us is in panic mode. As the ungodly have no hope, they have no secure fortress in these times of trouble. Their faith is swayed like the waves of the ocean because they do not have an anchor to steady their hearts on.
But we serve the Living God. We have been given a shield of Faith. The promise of God is still true. Fear not. It is in these stormy situations, God demands our faith, remain resolute in Him.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43 : 2
We are not alone. We have not been left to our destruction. We have not been abandoned. The same God who remained with the apostles and the prophets is still alive in us and His presence is still with us.
He remains with us because we belong to him. We have been bought at a high price. The scripture says that we have been redeemed by Him. Since we are His own, He will not abandon us.
But now, this is what the LORD says-- he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43 : 1
So replace your fear with Faith. Be overwhelmed by worship than by worry. We have a Father who knows what we need. He will never forsake us. He has been faithful till this very moment and He will remain faithful till the end.
So as you finish reading this text, strengthen your hearts in the Lord. He is strong enough to see you through.
Stay safe. God is with you.
