Heavenly mandate

The Israelites were suffering from severe drought and famine. God had promised them rain. But before the downpour, God wanted them to come out of their wavering faith and from their sinful ways. God wanted His worship to be the center of their lifestyle.

Elijah got the mandate to expose their Baal worship and prove who Yahweh was. His mandate was to destroy false worship.

Why are we called Christian/Believer?

- To impact the world

- To proclaim/ show Jesus to the world

- To identify the one who is burdened

We cannot be one with our peers/friends, God wants us to show the difference that we have.

God only needs you. With God, you become the majority. You are not alone.

When he saw Elijah, he said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?” “I have not made trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “But you and your father’s family have. You have abandoned the Lord’s commands and have followed the Baals. 1 Kings 18:17,18

Elijah was in God’s place, in God’s time, and for God’s purpose. God has a purpose for you too.

The people were comfortable with a pagan and sinful life. They were not willing to change. Elijah challenged them atop Mt. Carmel. He openly declared that Yahweh was the only God. That got him tagged as a troublemaker.

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1

Remember the past miracles/deliverances that God had given you. The choice is yours. Choose God over this world. He wants you to make the right choice. Jesus is coming soon. The protection that you have now is because Jesus paid the price for you on the cross.

No servant can serve 2 masters

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Luke 16:13

The Word of God is the truth. God is looking for productive Christians.

Make the right choice and respond to God’s offer of everlasting life. Respond to Jesus’ love. Allow God to be the supreme one in your life. We will then truly influence/impact the world.
