The biggest obstacle to progress in our lives is not necessarily the lack of resources. It is not even the absence of a clear plan to be set in motion. Often, it is also not the hugeness of the task ahead of us.
Instead, most of us tend to quit before we start due to a simple fact - Fear.
Fear immobilizes us. It paralyzes us. It makes us forget who we are and what we can do and replaces those thoughts of faith with the poison of all that we are not and all the things we were unable to accomplish.
As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. Exodus - 14 : 10
At the shores of the red sea, being pursued by the armies of Egypt - the children of Israel gave in to fear. Fear almost always comes hidden in the guise of rationality. Of course, it is incredibly difficult for a multitude of people to outrun an army. It can even be termed impossible if you add a sea into the equation.
But rationality does not take into consideration, one important component in this journey of Life - The God of impossible miracles.
When fear paralyzed the Israelites and made them grumble about even being delivered from the clutches of slavery, the word of the Lord through his servant to his people was to Fear not.
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14: 13,14
If you find yourself in an impossible situation today, and all your senses are asking you to give in to the paralysis of fear, Remember that the God who split the red sea is also with you.
With him, you can pass through the waters and scale the high walls. So instead of being paralyzed by your fear, paralyze your fear with your faith and watch the wonders of God unfold in your life.
That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant. Exodus 14 : 30,31
