The power of confession

As Christians, we often do not understand the power we hold, we think we are defenseless in the battles we face and lose hope. But that is not the truth, our strongest weapon is at the tip of the tongue.

"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." Proverbs 18:21.

The story of the fig tree is proof of this, Jesus commands the fig tree to wither and it does! later on, in this chapter, Jesus stands at the Mount of olives and says “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them". He meant the image of throwing the mountain into the sea as a figure of speech metaphor for something that is near impossible. He is saying that the greatest most impossible burden can be removed when a person has faith. There is a close connection between this kind of faith and prayer, It is the source of power.

So let us make a decision to not be moved by the circumstances that arise. The most joyous book in the Bible, Philippians, comes from the pen of an author chained to a Roman guard, the normally depressing state of imprisonment didn't bother him. We should never be moved by what we see or feel but confess the Rhema word of God.

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Mark 11:23
